WTH?

Oh dear Lord. I have been organizing my files and ran across this blog I had completely forgotten I had. Can't figure out how to get rid of it so guess I'll blog myself into oblivion.

Since the last blog I've become a Naples, Florida resident and a REALTOR. To think of all that has happened in such a short few years is mind boggling.

Will fill you in with details soon.

McCain Question

Did anyone watch the debate last night? Obama seemed to be very relaxed and even looked like he was enjoying himself. McCain was a little edgy and walked about like a grumpy old man. Look, I voted for McCain in 2000 but just can't do it this time around. He was in his prime then but after his VP selection I lost faith in him. I think Obama is a better choice and I'm anxious to see him elected. Reason for this blog - question: What was McCain talking about when he said he thought we should buy out all the mortgage loans? Has anyone had follow up on this issue? I haven't watched the news today and wondered if there is much talk about it. Later, SB

Random Act of Kindness

My husband and I took an out of town friend to Kings Island in Cincinnati, Ohio. There was a very long line of cars trying to get into the park and no one would let a mini van cut in from across the street. Apparently, the van had been sitting there for a while and my husband let the van in front of us. We waited our turn to pay for our parking and the parking attendant handed us a paid receipt and said the van in front of us had just paid $15 for VIP Parking. WOW! What a random act of kindness that was. We were happily surprised by the generosity. Makes you want to let others cut in line, huh? Give it a try. You never know what might happen. Cheers. COSTA RICA February 29-March 8, 2008

Costa Rica was full of adventure but the highlight was doing the Zip Lines over the Rain Forest. It was scary, thrilling, exhilerating, awesome, freaky, and fun. The Zip Line tour completes a distance of 1.8 Kilometers ranging from 99 feet up to 2,475 feet length and 60 feet up to 660 feet height. Above is a short clip of Sandy reaching the platform on a short run. Whoohoo!

My First Born is 21 Years Old

Since my daughter was old enough to talk, she's been promised a trip to Las Vegas when she turned 21 and that day came this past Valentine's Day. Mostly we walked and toured the casinos but managed to play some slots and roulette while sipping on a pina colada or maybe a beer. A good time was had by all. This girls weekend will be one on the memory chart that I hope I'll never forget. What did you do when your child turned 21?

Heath Ledger Death

I don't know how everyone else feels but hearing about the death of this young man is just heartbreaking to me. This kind of thing happens a lot all over the world but when it's in your face and you see it on the news all the time, it makes you realize how many people are suffering from sleeplessness, fatigue, or feeling so low they take too many pills. We live in such a protected society that we only hear about this when it happens to a celebrity. I wish there were more we could do to help those in need. So sad. Such a great loss when we lose our youth to tragic death like this.

The older I get.....

Sitting in the car waiting for my husband to come out of the Barnes and Noble Book Store, I noticed a young man crossing the parking lot with hair down to below his shoulders. His hair blew in the extreme cold wind and he tucked a piece behind his ear much like a girl would do with her long locks. It made me think for the first time about how restricted we are in the way we dress, what our hair looks like, and accessories we choose. Men are expected to wear certain clothing such as pants, ties, suits, and clothing for, well, for men. Women are expected to do the same although over the years they have been given more freedom to wear more masculine clothing. How does this dress code evolve? Who ever said women should dress differently than men? Why can't men wear dresses without being ridiculed at the very thought? Why do we frown when we see men with long hair or attach a certain thought to a woman who might have a very short cut? I happen to love long hair. It feels good to run my fingers through my hair and to feel it dance on a windy day. Why shouldn't a guy have that same luxury if they so choose? Out of the door popped my husband. It was time to go. I wonder how I would have felt if he had walked out of the store wearing a skirt and had long hair? Okay, no skirt, maybe just long hair.TALK TO ME PEOPLE. WHAT DO YOU THINK?
